Subaru and its retailers partner with Operation Warm® to visit local homeless shelters and support agencies to provide children with brand-new necessities like coats, shoes, and socks.
These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, they can also have a significant impact on a child’s mental and emotional well-being.
Through this partnership and other historical Subaru Loves to Help efforts, Subaru and retailers like us will have supported over 1 million children and adults in urgent need nationwide.
At Subaru, we believe what we leave behind is a reflection of who we are. That’s why Subaru and our retailers partner with the Arbor Day Foundation (TM) to provide and distribute 100,000 regionally appropriate trees across the country. We’re proud to establish the largest corporate tree distribution ever. Through this and other Subaru Loves the Earth initiatives, Subaru and our retailers have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees.
Subaru believes we should all have a chance to lead a healthy life. That’s why for over 10 years, Subaru and its retailers like us have partnered with Blood Cancer United® and our local hospital to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope, written by our employees and customers, to support our community members living with cancer. Through our combined efforts during this partnership, we have supported over 550,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be Blood Cancer United’s largest automotive donor.
Subaru and its retailers, like us, are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning(R) by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are needed to help students thrive in the classroom. Through our partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org, Subaru and its retailers have supported more than 950,000 students nationwide and are proud to be their largest corporate supporter.
Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home. That's why retailers like us partner with our local animal welfare organization every October to provide direct financial assistance through a grant distributed by the ASPCA® and host pet events to help animals find loving homes. Through our partnership with local and national organizations, Subaru has donated over $70 million, supporting the rescue, adoption, and health of over 700,000 animals. We're proud to be the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA.

Columbus experienced an unprecedented cold surge this year. Frigid temperatures caused significant harm to many youth experiencing hopelessness. For those experiencing homelessness, a coat isn't a luxury; it's the gear they need to stay alive, stay enrolled in school, or keep their jobs. It is life-changing. At our Operation Warm "Share the Love" event, the atmosphere was electric and productive. Providing a brand-new coat does more than repel the cold; it removes the physical stress of the elements and replaces it with a sense of worth. When youth have the right clothes, they can move through the city without the stigma of their situation, which builds self-esteem and a sense of safety that's hard to quantify. A huge thanks to the Dublin Byers team. They didn't just provide financial support; they showed up at our event with real grit and enthusiasm. The Byers volunteers were on the floor, helping people find the right fit and treating every individual with the utmost respect. They were engaging. They were welcoming. They shared in the fun and they matched the energy. That consistency builds trust with a population that is often used to being let down. Having this support helps us build trust, individual well-being, safety and hope. Byers' commitment is ongoing and incredibly generous. We're grateful for the partnership.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Columbus, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Byers Dublin Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Byers Dublin Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 02/13/2025, Byers Dublin Subaru donated 408 coats to Star House. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
I wanted to take a moment to thank Byers for once again sponsoring our bingo fundraiser and our basketball teams this past season. Our bingo fundraiser is one of our primary fundraisers for our program and Byers has been our event sponsor the past 2 years. We had over 200 people come out and participate in this year's event. Besides Byers' donation we raised an additional $14.000 for our program. Being able to add the Byers' name along with Special Olympics to our event, lends it an additional level of credibility that helps us to draw in even more support. We had 8 basketball teams this past season, that Byers' donation was used to sponsor. We have 5 adult men's teams, 1 women's team, 1 under 21 team and 1 under 15 team. The donation we received allowed us to purchase new uniforms for all our teams this season. Our unique green and gold color combination really stands out and the uniforms looked great. All our teams had a great season, but I particularly wanted to highlight our School Age Under 21 team. This team had a terrific season; after losing the first game of the year they went on to win every other game this season. This including winning the regional championship and then advancing to the state final four and winning the state championship! It was a well deserved championship. This team worked extremely hard during the season and were extremely supportive of each other throughout the year. Thanks again to Byers for all of their support. Our program is completely free to all the athletes that participate in it and we rely largely on donations and fundraisers to make this possible. Without the support of our community partners such as Byers, we would not be able to offer all the opportunities that we are able to. We’re thrilled to share that Byers Subaru Dublin has raised $58,205 for Star House! 💙 Star House is a lifeline for teens and young adults in Central Ohio who are experiencing homelessness. As the region’s only 24/7/365 drop-in center, they provide not only food, clothing, hygiene items, and a safe space—but also critical resources like mental health support, housing assistance, job placement, education, legal aid, and more. Funds raised also help support Carol Stewart Village, an affordable neighborhood with wraparound services for young adults ages 18–24. When a young person experiencing the challenge of homelessness receives an item we often take for granted, it is life-changing. Receiving a new warm coat in the middle of an Ohio winter not only warms and protects the body, but it also heals the soul. The relief on the faces of those receiving coats was palpable. It isn't just the coat; it is the feeling of being seen and cared for. A simple act of kindness should remind everyone of the profound impact even small gestures can have, especially for those facing hardship. It's a powerful reminder of what truly matters. Locally, Byers Subaru Dublin teamed up with Star House to donate over 400 coats to youth facing urgent need. I just wanted to take a minute and thank Byers Subaru for their support of our Special Olympics program this year. They were title sponsor for our first ever Bingo fundraiser that we held this year. Their donation of $5,000 allowed us to have a great event and surpass our fundraising goals for our bingo event this year. The $5,000 we received from Byers is specifically being used for our basketball program this year; which includes all 8 of our basketball teams. That money was used to buy new uniforms and balls for all our teams, as well as to cover the cost of officials for our games. Our athletes are extremely appreciative of the support that they received. A great thing about supporting our program is that 100% of the donations we receive goes directly to our athletes for things such as uniforms equipment, etc.
Byers Subaru Dublin was honored to support the Columbus Special Olympics with a $5,000 donation. As the 2024 sponsor for Columbus Schools Special Olympics Basketball, which consists of 7 teams. $3,500 will be used to purchase new basketball jerseys for all 7 teams. $1,500 will be used to provide transportation, food, and lodging at the 2024 Winter Games. Go Comets!
CHA Animal Shelter was welcomed to Byers Subaru Dublin for a special adoption event on October 19th to celebrate Subaru Loves Pets. The service lobby was transformed into a space to welcome adoptable pets and quickly filled with visitors. The event was a great success, with a steady stream of animal lovers visiting. Subaru's generous donations to CHA helped support their ongoing efforts to care for homeless animals and find them loving families. Two lucky dogs, Sweeps and Hank, found their families because of the event. The Subaru Loves Pets event was more than just an adoption drive; it was a celebration of the bond between humans and animals. By partnering with CHA, Subaru demonstrated its commitment to giving back to the community and helping animals in need.
At Star House, we believe that every young person deserves to be seen, heard, and given the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we are grateful to be a beneficiary of Byers Subaru Dublin’s 2023-24 and 2024-25 Share the Love® Events. Together, we’re working to help teens and young adults exit homelessness and thrive. Youth experiencing homelessness too often go unnoticed, blending into the shadows of a society that may not see their potential or hear their struggles. But Byers Subaru Dublin sees them. They’ve taken an extra step—not only acknowledging these youth but taking action, embodying what it means to be More Than a Car Dealer. Last year, during the Share the Love® event, Byers Subaru Dublin raised over $58,000 for Star House. This generous gift supports the first steps to healing for youth experiencing homelessness. It’s clean clothes for someone who hasn't had a fresh outfit in days. It’s a warm meal for a teen who’s been hungry for too long. It’s a hot shower that washes away more than dirt—it brings dignity, restoring a sense of self-worth that homelessness so often strips away. But their generosity didn’t stop there. In January, Byers Subaru Dublin joined us again for Operation Warm, where they handed out more than 150 winter coats to the youth at our drop-in center. At the event, youth picked out their coats, enjoyed warm meals and hot chocolate, and built community. Thank you, Byers Subaru Dublin, for supporting Star House and the youth we serve. Your support is a powerful statement that these young people matter, that they’re seen, and that together, we can help them exit homelessness and thrive.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) is so excited to have partnered again this year with Byers Dublin Subaru to donate blankets and care kits to the patients at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. It is always so wonderful to work with this team who shares our enthusiasm for supporting patients and their families. The team at Nationwide Children’s Foundation welcomed this donation again with open arms and reiterated how much the patients love these blankets! We are the Union County Humane Society and in conjunction with Byers Dublin Subaru we worked hard to get our underpets a new home. One in particular - Zeya captured our hearts. We didn't know Zeya's full story, other than she came to us as a stray kitten with very special jaw that jutted to one side. While it makes her uniquely adorable, we had concerns about her ability to eat and make her way in the world. Our concerns were misplaced because Miss Zeya has zero trouble eating. In fact for her tiny size, she has a tremendous appetite! Her personality - like all companion animals is always our focus and Zeya captured the heart of every person who met her. She's ornery and loves to climb on your head for the best view of a room, she plays and runs and generally has no idea that her deformity in any way my limit her (and she's right, it doesn't). She quickly found a loving home and we get update pictures often of our little girl. Thank you to Byers Dublin Subaru for standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us and supporting our counties companion animals. We are so gratefull! Her new owner is a big fan of the movie Hocus Pocus (great for our October adoptions) and Zeya's new name is Mary Sanderson!

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's mission is to cure blood cancers and provide comfort and care to patients and their families. We are so grateful to be working with Byers Dublin Subaru who shares our common goal of caring for the community. We worked with Carrie at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Foundation who was so grateful for the donation and excited to hand out these bundles of comfort to the kids at Nationwide. Bob and his team are always such a pleasure to work with and their excitement to serve the community is inspiring! Byers Subaru of Dublin has been faithful volunteers for LifeCare Alliance’s Meals-on-Wheels program. Every week, for over 10 years, the team at Byers Subaru Dublin has delivered hot and nutritious meals to thousands of homebound individuals in their community. LifeCare Alliance could not meet our goal of taking all clients without a waiting list without dedicated volunteers such as those at Byers Subaru. We commend them for helping us Nourish The Human Spirit!

Byers Subaru Dublin recently invited us to their showroom for a pet adoption event. They made us feel so welcome! The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We could tell that they really loved the animals and wanted to help them. They even helped us load and unload, set up and get some exposure for the dogs we had with us!

It is so refreshing when you are able find a company that stands behind its slogans. For Byers Subaru Dublin, when they say "we love pets" they mean it! Byers invited the Powell Animal Welfare Society, a small foster-based grass-roots non-profit to participate in one of their October weekend events highlighting dogs needing rescue. Byers handled everything! From emailing their customers to let them know that we would be there to providing lunch for our volunteers. Byers treated our volunteers and rescue dogs like royalty! Our rescue dogs enjoyed hanging out in their climate-controlled showroom while meeting staff and potential adopters. They got lots of attention (and treats) from everyone who walked by. It seemed as though everyone there that day was a pet lover!! Not only did they love on our rescue dogs but everyone was so genuinely appreciative of the work that our volunteers put in to help our dogs find their furever homes. It truly takes a village to make it happen -- and with companies like Byers Subaru Dublin on our side, we will be able to continue rescuing ... one dog at a time!

I'd like to take a moment to send major kudos and a huge shout out to the team at Subaru Service in Dublin, Ohio. My 93 year old grandmother had been in the family Subaru Crosstrek and had slipped her hand down between the seat and middle console of the car, causing her engagement ring to catch, slip off, and disappear under the seat. We did everything we could to try to locate and retrieve the ring ourselves, but to no avail. We decided to reach out to the service team at Subaru for help. I dropped off the car on Thursday morning and was greeted warmly by Ann Hill, a 16-year service representative. We reviewed the area of the car in which the ring disappeared, and Ann assured me they'd evaluate and be in touch. Two hours later, Ann contacted me to state they'd recovered the ring and both the ring and my car were still in perfect condition. Realizing the ring was both valuable and irreplaceable, Ann assured me that she would secure the ring in a sealed envelope and bag for safekeeping until I was able to stop in and retrieve it. I love that I was now going to be able to surprise my grandmother with her missing ring. When I stopped back into Subaru to pick up the ring and vehicle, I made it a point to extend my heartfelt appreciation for their hard work, efficiency, and most importantly their kindness. Byers Dublin Subaru is dedicated to supporting organizations that help our neighbors and community members in need. Byers Dublin Subaru is honored to partner with Haven House of Pickaway County. Haven House of Pickaway County, Inc. is a domestic violence and homeless shelter. They strive to empower survivors of domestic violence by providing advocacy, shelter, support, and safety planning. They also provide shelter for women and children who are homeless. They offer crisis intervention, case management, legal advocacy, referrals, support groups, individual counseling and more. Once again in 2020, Byers Subaru Dublin chose the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research as their Hometown Charity during the Subaru Share the Love event. The Byers Subaru team and their customers raised an addition $56,650 this year, bringing their cumulative total to more than $450,000 for breast cancer research. According to Byers Dublin Subaru General Manager, Mark Laub, “I met Chris Spielman 19 years ago when he was doing some spokesperson work for us. I was so inspired when he shared Stefanie’s story and how their family was using her cancer journey to support others and give back to their community through the Spielman Fund they created.” “From that point on, it really seemed like a perfect fit for Byers to get involved,” Laub said. “The Spielmans were really my entry to point to supporting philanthropy at the James and I was fortunate to have Chris coaching me through it. Genoa Christian Academy is a state chartered Christian school with full programming for preschool, elementary, middle and high school. Mark Laub, General Manager at Byers Subaru Dublin, has generously partnered with the PTF at Genoa Christian Academy by donating hundreds of books to help stock the student library and provide as take-home incentives to get students interested in reading. In addition, Byers Mazda Subaru heard of the demolition of the student's playground to make room for a new building and purchased movable basketball hoops to provide students with a fun physical activity outlet. The PTF at Genoa Christian Academy values the relationship with Mark Laub and Byers Mazda Subaru as an important piece of the school staff and parent efforts to always strive for continual academic growth and character development. Heart to Heart is a mission of First Community Church in the Tri-Village area of Columbus, Ohio. Our mission is to respond's to God's commandment to love one another. How we accomplish this is through our food pantry and the resources we provide--cooking classes, licensed social workers, medical assistance. etc. Recently, Byers Dublin Subaru contributed to our mission with a $1500.00 donation...with that donation Heart to Heart can purchase one month's worth of food to feed our community. Heart to Heart is open twice a week for people to come in and get much needed food. We purchase most of our food from the Mid Ohio Food Bank. $1 gets us $10 worth of food from the Food Bank. For the 7th consecutive year, Byers Dublin Subaru partnered with The Buckeye Cruise for Cancer and The Ohio State University’s James Cancer Research Hospital for the 2017 Finish On The Cruise Walk/Run. The 2017 Finish On The Cruise Walk/Run took place on Junkanoo Beach in the beautiful city of Nassau, Bahamas. The race set a new attendance record, registering 1,000 participants. The weather was picture perfect and our cruisers were warmly welcomed by the residents of Nassau. This year’s total was a new record for The Byers Dublin Subaru team! The 2017 Buckeye Cruise for Cancer’s Beach Walk/Run raised $30,000 dollars which will be donated to the Urban & Shelley Meyer Fund For Cancer Research and The James Cancer Research Hospital.

On Thursday February 4, 2016, The Byers Automotive Groups Executive Vice President George Kauffman presented Chris Spielman with check for $10,000.00 at The Byers Dublin Subaru location. The funds were donated by the employees of the Byers Automotive Group and are part of our continuing support for The Stephanie Spielman Fund For Breast Cancer Research.
I welcome this opportunity to share with you how Byers Subaru Dublin is serving the community through our school. Genoa Christian Academy is a small, private Christian school in Westerville, OH. Our school considers it a privilege and an honor to be the recipient of Byers Subaru Dublin's commitment to giving back. Last Spring, Byers Subaru Dublin donated Butterfly Garden kits to classrooms. Students studied, raised, and released caterpillars, built a butterfly garden habitat, and made a pledge to be Butterfly Heroes. This was an extremely fun and educational experience for our students, as well as aided in the efforts of the National Wild Life Association to improve the declining monarch butterfly population. At the beginning of this school year through the Adopt a Classroom Program, Byers Subaru Dublin gifted Genoa Christian Academy with $250 in books for the school library. The students have enjoyed these resources and teachers are extremely appreciative as the new literature has helped inspire excitement about reading! Finally, perhaps even more touching then monetary gifts, is the gift of one's time. The General Manager of Byers Subaru Dublin, Mark Laub, has volunteered in several of our classrooms to teach students about safety. Topics of safety in schools, public places, and while in the car have been discussed. It is clear that this company truly loves and is committed to improving our communities.

During the Share the Love event, held at the end of each year, Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased. Customers who purchase or lease a vehicle during that period select one of several charities to receive the donation. Labadee, Haiti was the setting for one of the many exciting events held during the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer on Monday 2/22/2016. 683 Cruisers took part in the 7th annual 3 mile run or 1 mile walk. The race raised $25,000.00 and benefited The Ohio State University's James Cancer Research Hospital. The race was sponsored by Byers Dublin Subaru and officiated by M3S Sports. The Ohio State University's First Lady of Football, Shelley Meyer, participated in the race and was on hand to except the donation of the behalf of the Urban and Shelly Meyer Fund For Cancer Research. Many of our favorite Buckeye Greats participated in the race, running side by side with cruisers and cheering them on!

Nearly 15,000 people in Franklin County receive their meals through the Meals on Wheels program that is sponsored by LifeCare Alliance. In addition to bringing an entire week's worth of food to people's doorsteps, we water plants, fetch the mail, shovel snow, and provide a bit of companionship. We honestly believe that we receive more than we give when we make our deliveries. It is an honor and privilege to be part of this wonderful program.
More than 248,000 people receive emergency food each year through agencies that are supplied by the Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Together with your support, Byers Dublin Subaru has raised nearly 800 pounds of food for this worthy cause.

We are proud to report that more than $48,000 will be donated to the fund through or participation in Subaru's 2014 Share the Love event.
